Short post today. It has taken me over 4 weeks to get my website renewed via my publisher. What a total journey of absolute frustration! But let’s not dwell on negative things. My website is now up and running again, so let’s get started! I felt a bit lost after running the Chicago Marathon. I did PR but I didn’t hit the goal I had worked so hard for and I felt a bit discouraged. I ran a HM race…..
On Oct 12th I ran the Chicago Marathon, with ~50k runners! My first major, international marathon and my first “destination race.” It was an amazing experience and it’s taken several weeks post race for me to absorb it all.
First, let me say that I am very blessed. I am grateful that I can run marathons and I…..
I’m taking a different path with today’s topic and thought my Hospital Hill race photo is a nice way to connect since I’m waving “hello.” 🙂
My dear friend and West Point classmate, Susan Spieth, invited me to participate in a Blog Hop titled, My Writing Process. You can check out Susan’s blog and learn about her book at…..

Well, it’s not entirely by plan. That hamstring injury in late December set me back quite a bit for off-season base building and forced…..
“What is the effective range of an excuse, Cadet?!” “Zero, Sir!” Simple exchange between upperclassmen and Plebe (freshman) at the Academy that has stuck with me through the years. Yes, there can be reasons but very, very rarely are there excuses. Pretty much never.
And so as we continue to be gripped by a…..
2013 was a great year and I am looking forward to an even better 2014! Running isn’t the center of my life but it certainly serves as the consistent thread that weaves through my 3 life priorities: Faith, Family, All Else. Running is a lifestyle for me and as the saying goes, “It’s cheaper than therapy!”
I made…..
My endurance running journey started in October of 2011 when I ran the KC Marathon with Team in Training. I’ve been hooked ever since. I am blessed with a supportive family but I think they fully expected that I would be a “one and done” after that first marathon. Afterall, that was my initial game plan. Yet…..
